Resumen

Grupos históricamente marginalizados en una estructura de castas sufren desventajas en varias esferas sociales. Cualquier estrategia correctiva debe reconocer el carácter interdependiente de este sistema de desventaja y elaborar reglas que impidan que una desventaja sufrida en una esfera (tal la de educación) se transmita a otra (tal el empleo). En este ensayo se explica y defiende una de estas estrategias —la idea de la responsabilidad acumulativa— inspirándose en la experiencia estadounidense del movimiento de derechos cívicos.
