Author Guidelines

1 Correspondence

Manuscripts should be sent to the journal by email, to the following address: doxa@ua.es

2 Format

Papers must be written in Spanish (in the case of translations, the name of the translator should be given at the end of the paper).

The first page should include the title (in Spanish and in English), the author's full name, teaching or research post, place of work and contact details, including an email address.

In addition, to facilitate anonymous review, a copy of the paper should be included with no reference to the author.

3 Abstract and key words

Manuscripts must include two abstracts of up to 10 lines in length each, one in Spanish and another in English, as well as the proposed key words in both languages.

4 Manuscript length

The recommended length of articles is 25 to 30 pages, using 1.5 spacing and 12 point Times New Roman. Originals that exceed the limit of 15,000 words will not be accepted. The recommended length of notes is 15 to 20 pages, and under no circumstances will manuscripts that exceed the maximum limit of 10,000 words be accepted.

5 Manuscript preparation

5.1 Footnotes

Footnotes should be numbered in consecutive superscript Arabic numerals, and should always be placed before punctuation.

5.2 Quotations

Quotations should be given in normal rather than italic type, and should appear between angle quotation marks. Quotation marks within quotation marks should appear in superscript. When a quotation is more than three lines in length, it should be separated from the main body of the text, indented and given in a smaller font size. Any change made to the original quotation should be indicated by square brackets.

5.3 Images and copyrights

Only images, drawings, photographs, figures, tables, charts, etc. created by the authors of the article are accepted. Authors can also use rights-free images, etc. or those under Creative Commons licences allowing for them to be reused and listing the allowed uses. Rights-protected images, charts, etc. can be used as long as the authors of the article have requested and secured the relevant authorisation from the creators of such images, charts, etc.

5.4 References

References should be given following the English-speaking model. Author's last name in small capitals, year of publication of the original: page number(s).

  • If the author published several works in the same year, letters should be placed next to the year, starting with a, b, c, etc. (PÉREZ, 2007a: 10-15).
  • If several authors with the same last name are cited, add the initial of the first name (PÉREZ, S., 2007a: 10-15).

Use the following order in the references: last name in small capitals, initial of the first name, year, colon and book chapter or journal article title in angle quotation marks, book or journal title in italics (if a journal, followed by the number), volume in parentheses, colon and page number(s).

PÉREZ, S., 2007: «Una teoría», Doxa, 30 (2): 10-15.

6 Publication

Accepted papers will become the property of the journal, which undertakes a commitment to publish them. For each issue, the editorial team will select papers from this collection.

Authors may be required to correct proofs of their papers, and the corrected proofs must be sent within a maximum period of 72 hours.

7 Copies

Once the issue has been published, each author will be sent a copy of the same and the corresponding electronic offprint.
